Meditation for stress

Meditation for stress

During this time of unknown and stress, take some time to yourself and focus on your breathing for as little as 10 minutes a day. Meditation can give you a sense of calm, peace and balance that can benefit both your emotional well-being and your overall health. When you meditate, you may clear away the information overload that builds up every day and contributes to your stress.

The emotional benefits of meditation can include:

Gaining a new perspective on stressful situations
Building skills to manage your stress
Increasing self-awareness
Focusing on the present
Reducing negative emotions
Increasing imagination and creativity
Increasing patience and tolerance
Find a quiet space either outdoors or indoors where you can sit comfortably and close your eyes. Focus on breathing through your diaphragm. You will find your diaphragm by placing your hand under your ribs, just above your belly button. “Fill” your hand with each breath and breathe in through the nose and out through your mouth. Enjoy this peaceful meditation daily!
